Synopsis About Bed Bugs

The number of bed bugs is increasing continuously in last few years. In the USA, it is reported that 60% of residences have bed bugs. This alarming issue somehow flamed down because medically it is approved that bed bugs are neither dangerous nor do they spread any serious and incurable diseases.

Bed bugs, scientifically called Cimex lectularius, are small living things that one can hardly see with the naked eye. Bed bugs belong to the insect class and there are many species of bed bugs and each has its unique characteristics.
Bed bugs are found in schools, universities, hotels, apartments, houses and shelters etc. Furthermore, they possess an ability to hide themselves in clothes, quilts, bed covers, pillow, furniture, cracks and crevices in the home.

According to statistics and the Pest Control Authorities in USA, it is said that these tiny creatures came to an end in 1940s after Second World War. But it is observed that there are many new kinds of bed bugs many new species came from Asia, Europe or Africa along with travelers. As bed bugs can only crawl, they used to hide themselves in furniture, cloths and other baggage. That is how; bed bugs are transferred from one place to the other or from one country to next.

As bed bugs are able to transfer from country to country, so, many races of bed bugs have evolved. For example, bed bugs generally are dark brown in color but it observed that bed bugs in America are yellow in color.

It is believed that bed bugs belong to vampires. This concept might come from the fact that just like mythical character of Vampire, bed bugs also suck blood and change their color to red or black when they suck blood. It is nothing but a stupid myth because it can also be said just like bed bugs many other insects like mosquito also belongs to vampire family, as they also suck blood for their nourishment, which is not true.

It is difficult to say that from where bed bugs came from. There are several ways for Science to unearth the real origin of any organism. But in the case of bed bugs, nothing can be said with surety. When you will see bed bugs crawling in your quilt, you will immediately think to kill them rather than to ponder from where they came or originated. It is most important to find cures and remedies to control bed bugs than to trace from where bed bugs originated. They can cause allergy where they bite. It is essential to curtail bed bugs spread significantly.

Bed bugs are active at night, but they can attack and suck human or animal blood anytime. They mostly bite at exposed skin area like, face, neck, arms, hands feet etc. leaving swelling and redness at those bitten areas.
This is the time to think about how to control bed bugs. Scientists have developed many insecticides and pesticides to kill bed bugs. Scientists are also working at permanent control on bed bugs increasing number and to protect this planet from them.
